Boots are one of the cornerstones of our business, and we've got more in-stock, readily-available boots in work, western, and fashion styles than anyone in the Southeast. Joe, our boot manager in Spartanburg, said customers should expect top-notch service.

"Our staff is expected to give our guests the full-service experience that is hard to find in today's stores," he said. "I call it the 'Chic-Fil-A Treatment' in a boot department. We expect to provide a true interaction of assistance and knowledge of our products with a smile. And nothing less."

Chris, our Mauldin boot manager, said that the staff's product knowledge goes past familiarity and reaches expert level.

"We want to treat everybody like family," he said. "We want to figure out if they want something casual for going out on the town or maybe for a wedding. If they have a voucher (from work), we look at the specs and figure out what company they work for and what they're allowed to have. We size their foot, fit them, and try to get them in the best possible boot or shoe. Depending on the account and the requirements, we try to put them in the best possible thing fitting in the parameters of their voucher."

Chris said the idea behind that level of service is to create customers for a lifetime.

"We want them to leave with a smile on their face," he said. "We don't want one-time customers. We want them to know that they'll get the pair of boots or shoes they want, that fit well and look the way they want them to look, and we want them to keep coming back."
