Harrison's merchandiser Paxton Jenkins (left) and Ariat field merchandiser Jessica Martin.

Jessica Martin is a field merchandiser for Ariat. She was in our Mauldin store last week for a floor re-set ahead of delivery of our Spring line, and we caught up with her for a few minutes to talk about the job. This is the first in a series of blogs about folks with some of the most interesting jobs we interact with every day. If you want to tell us how cool your job is, email jed@harrisonsworkwear.com

How long have you been doing this?

Martin: I've been working for Ariat as a merchandiser since March, but I've been working for the company since December 2019.

What's your favorite part of the job?

Martin: I get to travel around (she often logs more than 2.000 miles a month, not including flights) and meet different people. I go everywhere from Vegas to Cheyenne, Wyoming to Florida to Myrtle Beach. Everything is completely different, every store is completely different, there's different merchandise at every location. I just like how there's so much diversity in what I do.

What's your favorite Ariat product?

I love our jeans, strictly because they're the best-fitting jeans I've ever worn, and I've been wearing Western jeans my entire life. My go-to style is the Katie Flare. They're always my favorite, and they're always at Harrison's. They're stretchy, which is awesome for me because I travel so much. They have the Perfect Rise, and they're flared but not bell-bottomed. I love them.

What can we expect in the new Spring line from Ariat?

There is some EXTREMELY cool Spring stuff coming in. You can expect some awesome new prints in button-downs in short sleeve and long sleeve. There are awesome new colors in both Western and Work Vent-Tek, and in the Durastretch Made Tough pants. My biggest thing is all of the really awesome jeans that are coming out for ladies, including fashion jeans.
