Suited and Booted for Farmer's Day

A gunslinger needs a proper pair of boots.

So, when Dorman quarterback Brice O'Neal needed a new pair for Farmer's Day, he knew we had him covered.

O'Neal, the Cavaliers' junior signal-caller, will get his first start in the Dorman-Spartanburg rivalry on Friday night. He'll be one of right around a hundred guys to do so, taking both sides of the rivalry into account. That's something that's pretty special.

"I want to say when I first got to start against Boiling Springs, that's when it first started to hit me," he said. "And this week, going into it, the pressure is there for sure. But we played Byrnes a couple of weeks ago, Gaffney last week, great defenses, great teams. I think all of us are feeling confident."

O'Neal knows that he and his teammates can go down in rivalry history with a win. He's ready to get on the field.

"I'm very excited," he said. "It's been a long week. It's dragged a lot. I'm very excited."

As for those boots: they aren't O'Neal's first pair.

"They're the first pair that have looked this good, though," he said.

But they might not be out-of-the-box good looking for very long. As you might expect, Dorman's QB has Farmer's Week plans.

"We're gonna get a little dirty tonight," he said with a grin.
